When I had a job, I was working on a beast of a project. In addition to the loss of houses and forest, the wildfires in California will likely affect certain aspects of that beast-project. I am so grateful that it's no longer my problem.

Grateful that my homeowners association didn't see my lawn before I edged it yesterday.
This morning's motivation. I feel productive, therefore I am productive.
Yesterday's suprise thunderstorm. It was a beautiful light show and my yard really needed the water.

My wonderful friends and family who have been so loving, supportive and inspiring. Life is good!
My incredible luck.
A few weeks ago I got into a car accident that totalled my car. On the surface this looks like nothing good could come of it, but on the contrary - the accident may be a blessing in disguise. I am grateful for the following outcomes of this event:

1) No one was hurt
2) Insurance totalled out my car, forcing me to buy a new one
3) I like my new car better
4) My insurance settlement covered the cost of the new car so I am still car-payment-free
5) I was able to secure the new car before my rental car insurance payments expired
6) My insurance payment for my new car is less than my old car
7) I have a little money left over
8) Since I'm unemployed at the moment, it didn't really inconvenience my life too much

The most important thing is that no one was hurt. Things can be replaced, but injury can last forever. Thanks to my angels for keeping me safe!
Grateful that I have the courage to try something new. It will be successfull!
Grateful that I am healthy.
Grateful that I have the willpower to maintain a frugal lifestyle.
2 months without a post - terrible! There has been so much to be grateful for! The biggest gift has been TIME.

1) Time to relax and regroup and recover from burnout.
2) Time to go to the gym and kickstart my fitness program.
3) Time to work on some of my projects.
4) Time to enjoy the pool :)

The Grateful Dead for reminding me that every silver lining has a touch of gray. I know this sounds pessimistic, but I think that it illustrates the balance of life. After all you can't recognize the good without knowing what bad is.
My company lost a big account last week which may affect my job security. I've spent the last 4 days looking for things to be grateful for. Here's what I've got so far:

1) By finishing up a project, I might dodge the layoff bullet (as least for a little while)
2) The experience I've gained working on this account is priceless
3) Every ending is a new beginning - I am excited for what my future holds and grateful to have a new opportunity (whatever that may be)
4) My stress level might go down a little bit (eventually)

Squirrel eating nuts outside my window
A cool day in May - gotta enjoy them while I can
the rain on Saturday - not only did I get a lot of stuff done around my home, but also, the lawn needed it. Maybe we will be out of this drought yet!
songs in the keys of C and G for making me happy and optimistic
the upside to leaving breakfast and lunch at home is that I get to spend more time outside in the sunshine while I go get food.

I would like to thank the cow and the grape for their parts in a little production I like to call DINNER.

I got some disappointing news on Friday which, I must admit, I am still not please with, however there are a couple things to be grateful for in this situation:

1) thankfully, I still have a job
2) the situation has created necessity, who is the mother of invention. Sometimes we have to be pushed to make a change that will untimately make for a better reality.

Thankful that I have a excuse to sleep in tomorrow
Thankful that I am not an insomniac
Thankful for soft sheets and pillows
Thanks to Led Zeplin for rocking.
Thanks to JH for the free lunch announcement! The upside to being too busy to leave the desk to get lunch at noon :)
Grateful to Fitness Magazine who has published arm excercises that have actually worked. I can wear my jean jacket again!
A big thanks to Ween and Beck whose music always brings a smile to my face.
Another one in the "find the silver lining" category: I accidentally left my gym shoes in a locker at my gym and now a mystery person has taken possession of them. They are my only gym shoes and they are not cheap but in order to continue to excercise I must get new ones. I have thought of 3 things that are good about this situation:
1) I am still sore from my workout yesterday - the rest will do me good.
2) I have big a project at work that will benefit from me being able to get an early start on it today.
3) When my shoes turn up (fingers crossed, thinking positive here) I will have a spare, something that I should have anyway.
Thanks to my computer for taking an eternity to boot up this morning and requiring 2 extra-long restarts - I got to enjoy my breakfast a little longer and actually read a couple articles in Rolling Stone instead of just looking at the pictures.
